Round 5

Design parameters for this round (note: some of these are very loose concepts just playing with elements, but 98% are more fully formed)

  • Friendlier continent shape, less agressive, more accurate. Including both major ice shelfs this time to give us more design space inside the Continent’s shape

  • Started with your sun dog concept, but without the sun dog (I thought it would add one more busy element) but tried to give us an “illumination” vibe by using light/dark tones for the ice & sky

  • Using the topo P more prominently, and attempting to blend by using lines (vs blended color gradient)

  • Eliminated flags that promote Pathfinder conquering Antarctica, but keeping the flag vibe. Using clean flags, not weathered.

  • As I got into this round, I really feel like the “mission patch” look will be our best strategy. A patch is your most printer friendly option across: hats, stickers, mugs, shirts, patches. So that’s my recommendation.

  • No badass

  • No IMAX

  • Flat ice

  • No letter A, sticking with P

For this feedback round, let’s try something new that I think will help our process moving into the final week:

  1. Review all of these, absorb them all. Slowly. Take notes only on what’s working for Pathfinder Aviation’s Antarctica mission.

  2. Screenshot the ones you like

  3. Email me your screenshots & notes about what’s working (or upload to something collaborative).

Round 6

Ok for this round I took your fave elements from Round 5 and created one look with small variants between each

  • Small color differences

  • Flag positions

  • P tones

  • Border colors

This look will function well on a hat, shirt, patch, sticker, poster etc. It feels like “ice,” “aviation,” and “Pathfinder” with one glance.

Round 7

Restating our understood perameters before you review:

  • Topo P or big P, but not both together

  • Helicopter: dark, not orange or white

  • Antarctica Continent (exactly as seen IRL, no artistic interpretation of shorelines, no aggressive lines, etc)

  • Scott tent, just one…probably

  • Flags (clean, not weathered), 2-D side angle

  • Main Rotors are good (but not must have)

  • Two helicopters is too much

  • Needs to play well with a screen printer (clean lines)

  • Needs to look great on apparel, stickers, mugs, anything

  • Needs to feel like Pathfinder and feel like Antarctica

  • Focus mainly on the main logo design. Logotype can be added as-needed depending on product.

  • Should play well with other orgs logos operating there (most of theirs are terrible though??)

  • Should feel friendly or neutral, not aggressive, not cinematic, not “conquering.”

  • Stay away from busy, keep as simple as possible, but include all above ingredients/parameters

  • Referencing your design concept (below) that you really liked, keeping this in mind as a winning concept preference

  • And referencing this one below that you really liked from Round 5
